Voted Best Architectural Firm To Work For since 2018, Taylor Design, a 100% employee-owned firm, is looking for a passionate, collaborative, and creative Senior Visual Experience Designer to join our Service and Experience Design studio.  The Sr. Visual Experience Designer is focused on the creative visual deliverables for clients of the studio.  This design position is a member of a studio, with clients that may range from existing Taylor Design relationships in Healthcare or Science + Technology clients, or new healthcare-focused clients of the Service and Experience Design Studio. 

This position works collaboratively within a design team comprised of staff inside the firm and possible team members outside the firm, ensuring the visual design intent of all deliverables is well executed.  Including but not limited to:

Research Support:  

  • Collaborate with members of the Health Innovation Studio to support ethnographic research, market research, and synthesis of findings.  
  • Work closely with research teams to visually represent data and insights, translating complex information into clear and accessible visual formats. 

Create visual Design Assets: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create visually compelling design assets, including but not limited to presentations, decks, and visual aids for research purposes. 
  • Ensure that design assets align with brand guidelines and effectively communicate complex ideas in a visually engaging manner. 

Health Innovation Studio Development:  

  • Play a key role in supporting the development and creation of work products within our Health Innovation Studio, including creating brand guidelines and initial marketing material for studio start up.  
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to translate innovative ideas and concepts into visually impactful designs that resonate with our target audience. 

Creative Collaboration:  

  • Work closely with strategists, researchers, and other stakeholders to integrate visual design into the overall experience and participate in team activities.  
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to enhance our project work, from strategic design to operational planning. 

Design Excellence:  

  • Maintain a high standard of design excellence, staying updated on industry trends and best practices to bring fresh and innovative perspectives to the team. 
  • Strive for continuous improvement in design processes and workflows. 
  • Responsible for quality control of their own work
  • Participates in and helps promote the on-going development of co-workers.

Skills / Requirements

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in visual design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree Is not required, but is preferred, including but not limited to, MBAs, MHAs, MS Design, Interaction Design, or other related degrees/disciplines, etc.  
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in experience design or related field
  • Good presentation skills, able to speak with confidence.
  • Good overall communication skills – visually and orally.
  • Collaboration skills with diverse groups of people, both staff and clients
  • Proven experience in visual design, service design, and experience design, with a portfolio showcasing a range of design projects. 
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and PPT.  
  • Understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory. 
  • Ability to work in a start-up environment with a degree of ambiguity (health innovation studio)  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is a plus.
